When things don’t go our way,
some of us may find it hard to come to terms with the challenges life throws at us.
Worse, we may get trapped down the rabbit hole of self-doubt.

Question after question.
“Did I do anything wrong?”
“And hence the divine retribution?”
“No! Not at all!”
.
This song is inspired by the biblical story of Job.
An utterly righteous man, he similarly has to go through the trials and
suffering God places before him.
Ultimately, he comes to appreciate God’s sovereignty over everything,
having his story wrapped up with a happy ending.

With Job’s tale in mind, let's hold on to our faith in God,
keeping a grateful heart in face of adversities.
Trust that His perfect will shall be revealed! ☺️

約伯的故事意義非凡。他的經歷給予我們深刻的教訓：
坦承自己的不足和短視，全然擁抱神的全能。

單就今年而言，人類生活所受的影響，是好幾年前無法想象的。
疫症不僅重創全球經濟，企業因而倒閉，失業率惡化；同時，
空前的天災肆虐全球，觸目驚心的山泥傾瀉和洪水氾濫蹂躪各地，
中國鄭州、比利時，甚至德國，無一倖免。

儘管全球試圖掩蓋真相，但也是徒勞無功的。任何你想到的新聞媒體，
都在集體報道壞消息，好像冠狀病毒摧毀人類生活還不夠多一樣。
希望在何處？隧道的盡頭可見曙光？人類要從中吸取教訓嗎？
.
約伯的興衰，以及他圓滿的結局，說明了人類與上帝的觀點相比，
是多麼不濟和渺小！我們抱怨生活多麼複雜，多麼艱難，世界又多麼混亂，
卻沒有意識到神做事的法則，以及祂的計劃，遠超乎我們想象。
.
我們以自訂的標準和尺碼來質問神，要求祂消災解難，是為了甚麼？
神會放棄聖潔，屈服於人類帶著罪性的訴求嗎？
不！神不期待我們一生固步自封！
相反，我們要改變，務求長成祂的樣式和形象。
.
約伯在遭難時示範了這點，他經歷的禍患，是神安排以考驗其信心的。
我們會用言語表達對神的愛慕，可是在受災受難時，會否埋怨而選擇不信？
若是如此，我們距離神的模樣還很遠，必須努力改變，突破罪性，
效法神百般的忍耐。

同樣，疫情和天災人禍正衝擊著各國，抱怨是枉然的，也不必苦訴世事多麼不公平。
在絕望之中，智慧之子會選擇仰望上帝，尋求自我改變。現在並非痛苦呻吟的時候，
而是改變的契機，就從約伯的經歷學習，委身效法基督的樣式吧！
